Keep Hydrofracking Out of Groton

Snyder and Smith for Groton Town Board

Neil Snyder and Kelly Smith are running for Town Board because they want to preserve the beautiful, clean, and quiet rural character of Groton. This vision of Groton is currently under many threats and the current Town Board is mired in inaction.

Snyder and Smith will take action to preserve Groton !

Snyder and Smith Will Ban Hydrofracking!

Hydrofracking in other states has polluted water, increased traffic with large trucks, increased road damage, increased noise and brought little or no financial benefit. It has destroyed whole communities.

Snyder and Smith Will Establish a Sensible Noise Ordinance!

All Groton residents should have the right to the peaceful and quiet enjoyment of their own homes. Currently individuals have no recourse when another individual chooses to blast a sound system so loud it can be heard for miles (even in the middle of the night).

Snyder and Smith Will Establish Open Government!

The current Town Board holds many important discussions and working meetings in secret. Work meetings and discussions of important issues should be held in the open and in public.

Neil Snyder

Besides business management and leadership experience Neil has a lifetime of community service. He is especially devoted to working with young people as a Sunday school teacher and as a substitute teacher with the Ithaca School District. He would like to hear from you about what you want for Groton's future and what issues concern you. Email Neil or give him a call at 533-4627.

Kelly Smith

As a Groton native, Kelly has witnessed many changes to our community. After graduation from Cornell University, she left the area in search of work. Her travels took her to communities that lacked the serenity of her hometown so she returned to Groton in 2000. As a Town Board member, she will strive to maintain our rural culture and improve public safety. She is especially interested in local health and environmental issues. She believes that local government should be fair, inclusive, and approachable. Email Kelly or give her a call at 607-745-9066.
